Over The Rainbow

Is this the brightest rainbow you've ever seen?

Thanks Utah, I needed that

No place like home

My home is Oregon. I was born and raised there and can't get enough of the gorgeous greenery and drizzly rain. Just the smell of rain or the sound of it on the roof makes me think of home. That's where my parents are and all my childhood memories.

Bryan's home is Alaska. He spent his childhood exploring the mountains, hunting, and most of all fishing. He knows each island as if its an old friend. The incredible serenity and peace is something no place else has.

But our home is Idaho. Ever since we graduated from BYU-I  we have longed to go back. We love having family close, being just a short drive from camping, hiking, fishing, and anything outdoors you can imagine. We want a little home out in the country where we can have space for our kids to play, and be able to see the incredible sunsets each night.

But it's just not meant to be for us to go home yet. But we dream for that day with excitement when we can call Idaho home.

Memorial Day Hike

I guess its an accidental tradition that we go on hikes on Memorial Day. Last year it snowed that morning and we were hiking through 4-6 inches of slush. This was a much shorter, easier hike :)

Bryan's sister Steph came with us too and we all enjoyed just getting outside in the beautiful sun!

Play

Even though it was 92 degrees today we went to the park for a few minutes. I have to get out of the house! He gets so excited when he sees the park and squeals and wants to play on it!

Then it was time for snacks ;)

Lake Blanche

We wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather and go on a hike with Eli. He had a hike picked out but when we got to the trailhead everything was covered in snow still. We headed back down the hill and found a different hike.

This little mister was SO tired. We made it about 1.5 miles up the trail before we turned out so he didn't get too cranky.

We had a super fun day enjoying the gorgeous sun and being together as a family. We have another mid week hike picked out to a waterfall. Pictures to come!

Fishing Friday

Bryan took our little family to a fishing hole in Herriman yesterday.  It was so relaxing!

Even though the fish looked... dead he actually swam away.  Eli's little love pat must have helped!
It may not be the same as King Salmon and 50 pound Halibut but it was fun for our little fam!

Mr. Fix-it

Eli has been busy "working" this week. He had to fix his truck and do some work on the computer. What a busy day for a baby!

Mini Reunion

I love when my family can come visit. I never take enough pictures though! Doug can from Tennessee and my mom from Oregon. It was a busy weekend with Eli's birthday party but so fun to be together.

One Year Young!

We celebrated an early birthday for Eli since my family would be in town.  It was so much fun to decorate and plan a party for him!  We didn't have any activities or games planned, just visiting and eating!  It doesn't feel like Mr. Eli is almost 1 since he still nurses, wakes up at night, and can't quite walk.  Maybe when he's officially 1 it'll hit me!

 "Presents?! I'm coming Mom!!"

Skyping with Grandma Patty so she can watch the present opening and cake eating
He was not super excited about eating it but played with it!
