Baby Diaper Bag

I finished a project.. WooHoo!  I found a bag tutorial online that I liked but it was only a regular purse size, so I tweeked it a little... okay a lot.  Its lots bigger to hold lots of good baby stuff!  And just for fun I made a little clutch thing.

P.S. I haven't washed the mirror in a while, don't judge me :)

I really like it and I must admit, I'm pretty proud with how it turned out!!!

Nesting

And so the nesting begins!  I am already halfway through the pregnancy.  I can't even believe it!!  I am busy with finishing my diaper bag, baby quilt, thinking of decorations for The Critter's room, and sewing more stuff.  Cause thats what I like :)

Here are some ideas:
Kind of a neat idea, so it can be on any blanket.  I don't know how talented i'll be at keeping myself modest with a blanket, and i'm not into showing things you don't wanna show when trying to nurse :)

Gotta get to work on one of these too!

And for the nursery... which I can't paint of course in our apartment but i'm still planning ideas.  I don't want to go all out on a theme like stars or sheep or whatever, I'm leaning more towards colors.
 And today i like yellow.
Yellow and pink or yellow and blue.  love it!

I'll update you soon on crafts i've been doing (starting at least.... I haven't been the best at finishing my projects) !

And gender :)  so I can focus on "the quilt" for baby!  I want to make one special quilt for the baby to put in their crib.  Just something fun to put thoughts into.

Workin' Away

I got Friday off this past week and I could not have been happier!  I have had a cold all week so we spent Friday sleeping in (til 10) then relaxing at home.  Bryan had the day off too for end of term.  After lots of R&R I got a little antsy so I got to work on a diaper bag!

I didn't want to do one gender specific, just one that could be used by any baby.  I found a cute purse pattern online but I needed it bigger to hold baby junk, so I improvised and made up my own pattern.  As usual I got addicted and couldn't stop sewing for hours.  All I have left to add is the straps.  And I am going to make a little diaper/wipes holder instead of having to take the whole bag (at church or something).  Pictures are coming soon!!

i just keep truckin' along

Bryan and I are still working like crazy.  But what else am I supposed to be busy doing?  Growing a baby or something?  oh Yea!

Baby is very name-less.  Good thing we find out in a week and a half what our little person is, then we can narrow down half our names!

I am feeling baby Westfall kick and do karate in my belly.   They just feel like little pokes.  Kinda funny but i'm loving it!

And one other thing.  This weeked I started working on a baby project.  shoes!  Little ones :)

Can you tell Bryan voted for me making the fishy ones!

Baby likes food.

I haven't decided if the cravings are my own or if they are hormonal baby cravings. Nonetheless I am enjoying them :)

Very first craving was McDonald's breakfast burritos.  GROSS!  I hate McDonalds, but that was the main give away that I was pregnant.  I had to have them!  Not since though!

Then I really really needed thai food.

And Mac and cheese, yogurt and granola, bananas, and cereal (Kix mostly).

Last night was German pancakes!!!  They were delicious!

I made an 8X8 to feed the two of us, but if you make it for more I would double it for a 9X13 pan.

3 eggs
1/2 milk
1/2 flour
1/4 tsp salt

drizzle 1 Tbs melted butter in bottom of pan.  Mix ingredients together until smooth and pour over butter.  Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.  Heaven!

This isn't my photo, but its the same recipe that I used

A BABY!

Coming June 2012 is the newest and most exciting addition to our family!  We are overwhelmed with joy and blessings as we prepare for our new little baby!

I have been feeling really good ( besides being incredibly exhausted), and Bryan is reaping the benefits of my cravings for corn dogs, mac and cheese and thai food!

We should find out in a few weeks what we're having!  Any thoughts?  P.S. I'm about 15 weeks if anyone is curious.  Yay for babies!!!

O Christmas

We spent this Christmas break in Oregon relaxing and playing.  I didn't bring my camera with me to many places but we have great memories.  We drove to Astoria and spent the evening there.  We were going to have a bonfire on the beach but it was practically raining up!  There was water everywhere!  We had great fish and chips at a cute little place then headed to see the Astoria column.  We were nearly getting blown away in the wind and rain but we couldn't stop laughing!

We also went to our coveted Sushi Land.  I NEED to go to this place when we are in Oregon.  Its a must.  Awesome cheap sushi for only 1$ a plate.  We had fun sharing with Doug and Mom and trying new things.

We spent most of our time going on walks, laughing and talking together, doing Christmas puzzles and watching movies.  What a great week!
Bryan loved manning the fire!

Since we had church Christmas morning we didn't get around to unwrapping gifts until 3:00 in the afternoon.  but what a fun relaxing day we had.  This is the wrapping paper disaster afterwards!

Temple Square

Last year Bryan and I saw the Lights on Temple Square for my birthday. We went again this year with our good friends Denise and Chad.

I just love the funny natives.  When I read the sign in the corner I thought it said please enjoy natives from the sidewalk :)  Oops!

Gotta make sure you are always safe when crossing the road!  haha.  Too bad we forgot to get a group picture.  Next time I guess!

2011... What a Year

Our Year started out with quite a whirlwind, but it has been filled with blessings, struggles, exhaustion from work, and lots of laughs.  And boy are we excited for 2012!!

On January First we moved into our new apartment in Sandy UT where we both began new jobs.  We were so blessed with Innumerable Blessings.

February we said goodbye to my Granny who passed away at 87.  She taught me many things in the last few months of her life.

In march we planted our wee little garden with two tomato plants, a row of peas, row of beans, and a pot of potatoes.  We enjoyed watching them grow everyday!  We only got enough beans and peas for one dinner, but we loved every bite :)

In April we spent Easter Weekend with Bryan's brother and sister-in-law.  We had a very relaxing weekend.   Our other weekends were filled with playing at the Nickle Arcade, going to the park, and working on decorations for our apartment.

May was filled with quilt making in preparation for the County Fair.  We had a fun holiday with Snow On Memorial Day.

In June Bryan celebrated an Un Birthday for me!  Just read the post :)

July was spent having bonfires with Denise and Chad, playing at the Olson (Bryan's mom side) Family reunion and the Manti Pageant

August was a month of Alaska!  We enjoyed Walks in Craig  and using my new camera to take Pictures of The Sea.  Oh and Don't forget Captain Bryan and First Mate Lizzie.  I also entered 2 quilts in the Salt Lake County Fair while Bryan was still in Alaska and got 2nd and 3rd place.  Maybe i'll try again next year!  And how could I forget our 2nd Anniversary!!

In September we enjoyed going to the State Fair, and watching lots of football games at local high schools.  We also had free tickets to the Real Salt Lake Soccer team.

October was a busy month with work but we had lots of fun evenings going to the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, and having a Halloween party with family!

November and December blurred together with Thanksgiving in our little apartment with lots of family, spending time in Idaho and South Eastern Utah, and heading to Oregon for Christmas! We are looking forward to next year!

And being with this guy I love so much!

Hello

Hello.

I'm back.  not super excited about it, but its a part of life that I know needs to go on.  And I have Bryan with me, so I couldn't just hide in the closet at my mom's house and not go back :)

My knuckles and lips are dry already.  Goodbye moisture!

I will post a few fun posts of our Christmas break in Oregon.

Bye for now.
