Wilbur and Eunice

This weekend {Wilbur} and I went to Pocatello to visit his brother and family. We had a rockin' Halloween Party that Macy (7 years old) and Addie (4 years old) were in charge of planning. we played pin the tail on the monster and had donut eating contests. Then we danced all night long to the monster mash!

Magic Sugery

Today Bryan had magic sugery, at least that's what he called it.  I call it getting your eyes burned out.  He had Lasik!

He had today and also has tomorrow off but I work both days (somehow this is becoming common).  So he picked me up from work and we flew to his appointment super fast.  Thursdays are the only surgery days at the clinic so it was an assembly line of people getting checked in, prepped, and lasered.  The Doc has done over 20,000 procedures so he's a pro.  It went really well and I got to watch the procedure on a monitor through the room.  It was disgusting, but cool.  I picked up his antibiotic drops on the way home, and grabbed a pizza too.  I didn't get a chance to eat all day so I was starving, and kept sneaking more pieces of pizza when Bryan wasn't looking!

He gets to wear these sexy glasses all day today and for the next four nights!  woo woo!

 Time to sleep.  Sweet dreams

I need a vacation!

I am still working about 50 hours a week because we are (still) short on staff, AND we are getting another doctor in our clinic.  Ouch.  I am working every day, including my days off in October, November, and so far December.  I need a break!!

It is emotionally exhausting and very stressful.  We are doing EMR (electronic medical records) so we're using computers instead of paper charts, which means new training, procedures, and lots of learning and staring at a computer screen.  Those things plus everything else in life thats going on makes for a very tired Lizzie.

Good news is that Bryan is having laser eye surgery tomorrow!  No more glasses for him!  yay!  Pictures to come :)

Campin' out in the Living Room

You know the feeling of snuggling up in a blankie with your honey, next to the camp fire, watching the stars above?  We got to do this last night.  In the living room :)

We layed on the edge of the living room by the balcony with the pumpkins lit and glowing, the glass door open and breeze breezing, stars twinkling, and us snuggling.  It was really relaxing!

Then we read our scriptures together.  This is something we need to work on, and I wish we were better at it, but this was a sweet moment.  Very peaceful.

We love when the power goes out and even though it still worked we pretended :)

Pumpkin Patch

I love the pumpkin patch.  We went last year and had a great time.  This year we went with Jeremy and Stephanie.

Bryan used his huge muscles (mus-kuls) to push around our wheelbarrow,

 Photo shoot.

The boys.
In the corn maze.

Once we got home we got right to work carving them.  You know the cheap little carving kits they sell at walmart?  They're pretty nifty!  We were professional carvers!

Here is the cast:
My ghosts, our white pumpkin ghost-a-lanter, Jeremy's goul, Bryan's witch, and Steph's monster :)
We had a great night!!!

Bocce Ball

We went to play bocce ball last night to get out of the house.  We forgot that it gets dark much earlier now, so we ended up playing in the dark :)
This is my man- lovely.  haha

 I definitely won!

Then we got kinda silly.

It was nice to get out and go play.  Tonight we're building a fort in the living room!!

What are you up to this weekend??

I wish weekends were longer

I just can't think of much to write about for this week.  I worked a lot.  We had an employee quick so we are now all working our tails off to pick up the slack.  People at work kept reassuring themselves that they paycheck would be bigger from working 11 hour days and overtime, but i'd rather be home and poor than be a workaholic and wealthy.

Tomorrow Bryan and I are taking pictures with my best friend Denise and her husband.  Then its off to roller skating for a double date!  I'm so excited to do something new and fun! And of course I'll post pictures as soon as I can!

Oh, and also on the weekend list of to-do's is watching Hocus Pocus.  I'm number 38 in line at the library for it, but don't have time to wait til next Halloween before its my turn, so i'll get it at Redbox!

And I also want to make this:

But that means drinking how many gallons of milk?!  Maybe just one or two :)  there are fake tea lights at the dollar store that I will probably put in the jugs so they last me til Halloween.  I'm not a huge halloween decorator, but these can be tossed after the spooky night.  Easy!

And dreaming of sewing this:

What are your weekend plans?

Welcome October!

Oh Candy corn- your sweet, cavity causing goodness.
And you just look so great in my hurricane jar!

I got a yard of Burlap for 2 dollars at Joann's this morning!  I made a quick handmade banner for fall this afternoon and I am loving the addition.

Here is a great tutorial for making the banner and stencil letters.
I hand painted my letters so they are pretty crooked
but I didn't have Freezer Paper on hand.

I also made another banner for pictures next weekend that my
bestie Denise is going to take for us.  They'll be posted soon!

Presenting...

My Finished Quilt!!

I thought this day would never come :) It took me a lot longer than I was planning/expecting but I love it so much more!! I smile every time I see it on the bed.

You are more than welcome to come snuggle on the bed and enjoy its yummy swirly quilted-ness!

P.S. I do realize I need a bed skirt.  Its on my to-do list.  Don't look too close!
