26 again?

How far along? 26 Weeks again.  this is an ongoing debate between what the ultra sound says (27) and what the doc says (26), but measuring 27.  so who knows :)
Total weight gain: 10 pounds!

Maternity clothes? much more comfortable.  only the pants though.  maternity shirts are usually ugly so i just wear ones that stretch
Sleep: super super weird dreams, is that pregnancy related?
Best moment this week:  people at Wal-mart and work who i don't even know asking when i'm due and if its a boy or girl.  It's definitely obvious i'm having a baby!
Food cravings: WATERMELON!  But its too early in the season .. or and strawberries and cantelope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: the words "chunky chocolate milk"
Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: found out i'm anemic which isn't a big deal but it explains a lot of fatigue i've been having
Belly Button in or out? starting to stick out more and more
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy!  excited to meet our little guy!

Looking forward to: having him as a part of our family

Baby likes hot dogs.

We had lots of plans this weekend but they all fell through, so we improvised and had a great time.  We both have read the Hunger Games book and wanted to actually see the movie in the real theater!  We went to a matinee showing Saturday and really enjoyed it!  I still like the book better, but it was good and we weren't dissapointed at all.  It was also fun to sit in leather seats, in a stadium seating, and watch a new movie, instead of our usual cheap theaters with gum on the seat, padding all worn down, and sticky floors :)

Then we packed up a few things and headed up Cottonwood Canyon for a little bon fire. We were right by the stream, and it was beautiful weather. It was nice to enjoy nature and relax.

I think Bryan was a little disappointed when he saw he cut a crooked marshmallow roasting stick

My mountain man :)

Baby loved the hot dogs :)

See my shoes down there?

Craft Time With Crystal

I had a day off Tuesday which was filled with Doctors appointments and some Crystal craft time :)

I don't have gestational diabetes (yay), but I am anemic (boo).  I think that explains why i've been so incredibly tired these past couple months.  People say the second trimester is the best, but i've been dragging.  I got started on iron supplements so i'm hoping they kick in soon!

Oh and no cativities at the Dentist.  Double yay!

Crystal came over and came with me to run some errands and get groceries, then we made felt flower headbands, which I also have posted in my etsy shop.  Here are few pictures!

These were the first flowers, I made another one with grey, and Crystal made another one with white flowers.

She also needed a little snuggle with baby boy

I was having issues getting my headband on right, but I had to laugh when I saw how huge my belly looks here!!

Forget Me Not

This evening I read the article by President Uchtdorf called Forget Me Not.  It was exactly what I needed in the middle of a week with lots of things on my mind.  Here is the article

Often in life I get caught up in  the big things of life like the monotony of work everyday, wondering if we will ever have enough money for a house and large family, ect.  But I can't explain how many times I do forget the beautiful little forget-me-nots that make the world a wonderful place.  The laughs Bryan and I share, the hobbies I enjoy of sewing and quilting, the peaceful walks we take together, the little tiny kicks my baby gives me, the simple life we have.  So many things can get looked over.

He also talks about 5 points to the Forget Me Not.  These are so important.  "Yet we spend so much time and energy comparing ourselves to others—usually comparing our weaknesses to their strengths."  Why do we do this?  I find myself doing it daily, comparing myself to others doing exactly what he says, my worst to their best.  It was a very good reminder that we need to love ourselves and be happy with who we are, and the true potential we have to become perfect someday.

Happiest Baby on the Block

Have you heard of the video or book by Dr. Harvey Karp called The Happiest Baby on the Block?  Its incredible.  I first heard about it in nursing school and watched you tube clips of it because the library in Rexburg didn't have the video.  I just watched it tonight with Bryan and I am so glad I did!  There were amazing tips that we are excited to try when Baby Boy comes.

It was interesting to watch screaming babies instantly calm down.  Granted, this is after they are fed, warm, clean, and changed, can these 5 S's help.  They are swaddle, side, shoosh, shake (more like jiggle), suck.  The vieo said swaddling alone won't help but combined with one or a few of these work like magic.
Here is the you tube link for a little info:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu0TtxO-ocY

Has anybody tried this with their fussy babies?

Dinosaur Museum

Bryan and I went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  We get in free because he's a teacher.  Woo hoo!  It was a fun museum, and would be super fun with nieces, or our kiddos someday.

(It took a while to figure out the lighting in the museum so this one is blurry)

This elephant looking thing was only the size of a dog.  It could be a fun pet back a few million years ago :)

He looks a little scared :)

We had a really fun time (especially for free), and Bryan loved the geography stuff too.  Hope you had a good saturday!

Friday, March 2, 2012

I was reading a blog of a pregnant lady who updated this list of questions with a picture every week.  I won't do it every week, but maybe i'll do it a few times.  This is last week's picture, but I'll update it this weekend when I take a better one :)

How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain: 6 lbs. I don't own a scale so I only find out once a month at my Dr's appointments!
Maternity clothes? This is my first maternity shirt!  I wanted one that would work early on and later (hence the elastic sides).  I got three shirts at Target for 30 dollars.  Woohoo!

Sleep: I just have to tuck a pillow between my knees then its great.  I do wake up a million+ times a night though.
Best moment this week:  Finishing work on Friday at noon!  I came home and took a nap (two days in a row).  Its becoming a habit :) now it feels like we get two saturdays this weekend!
Movement: non stop wiggles
Food cravings: this week has been fruits.  I ate an entire carton of strawberries, 2 plums, apples, and a banana every day
Anything making you queasy or sick: only not eating frequently enough
Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: no swelling, but ligament soreness for sure.
Belly Button in or out? starting to stick out!Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY
Looking forward to: Finishing the quilt for baby boy.  And figuring out a name... any ideas?
