Our Soon to Be New Apartment

I realized that I don't think I posted what our new apartment will look like.  We are now in a one bedroom one bathroom apartment in Sandy, UT, but in June will be moving to a two bedroom two bathroom in Riverton, UT! We are so excited for the extra space, two walk in closets, and another bathroom!  These apartments are only 4 years old so they are in better condition then our current one.

It seems so spacious compared to our place now.  I can't wait!  We are ready to move now, even though we still have 1 1/2 more months :)  We are getting antsy and ready to move on.

There will definitely be a lot of changes in a month.  We move to Riverton, have a baby, and go to Alaska!  Yikes!  I am so grateful that my mom will come for a couple weeks and help us get settled in, take care of baby, and get ready for our travels!  But we are ready for these changes in our life, and so excited!!!

Waddle Wednesday

My mom told me about this Youtube video of a parody from a song on the radio.  Its all about being pregnant, and I could not stop laughing because its so true!!

Then I heard the real song on the radio today and decided I had to post this.  Pregnant or not pregnant its so funny!

P.S. The chocolate milk and strawberry cravings are definitely me!

Baby Quilt!

I finally finished Baby Boy's quilt.  I think i have pretty much been working on it since finding out he was a he and picking nursery colors.  I really really love it and it matches the one my mom made perfectly!
Here it is finally hand quilting done and binding finished.
I love it!  Its about a crib size, give or take a bit :)

And Mom's quilt too!

Isn't her hand quilting amazing!?

Wheat Grass

Our tiny apartment needed a splash of green to welcome in Spring.  I bought some wheat berries and started growing wheat grass!  Although it only lasts for a month or so before it starts to turn brown, it was really fun to grow!

I went to WINCO and bought 1/2 cup wheat berries.  I layered rocks then soil in 99 cent tin buckets from Ikea.  These do not have holes in the bottom which is what I wanted, because I didn't want any leaks!  I soaked the wheat berries in water for 24 hours until they had little tiny white buds on the ends, then I sprinkled them on top of the soil and covered with a bit of water and plastic wrap to create a minature green house.

After two days of growing they had little sprouts, then about 4 days later below

Keep watering every day and keep them in indirect sunlight!

then you have grass!  Once it starts growing you can move it to wherever you want to display it.  I kept ours on our counter in the kitchen to brighten things up a bit.  And you can trim their "hair" about once a week when it gets shaggy :)

3rd trimester

How far along? 29 weeks and 3 days or 30 weeks and 3 days.  I have another apppointment this week so we'll see what she says
Total weight gain: 13 pounds
Maternity clothes? maternity pants seriously need to come with suspenders!  Mine are always sliding down my belly.  Great now i'm a prego gangster with slouchy pants
Sleep: its a great thing :)  actually sleeping better than a month or so ago
Best moment this week:  When Bryan texted in the middle of work and said, "I'm excited we're going to have a baby".  Just made me smile
Food cravings: Gatorade
Anything making you queasy or sick: Anytime I burp or hiccup I get realy bad heartburn.  ouch
Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: found out i'm anemic which isn't a big deal but it explains a lot of fatigue i've been having, and heartburn/ acid reflux is coming on.  Oh and I didn't realize it until last week but i've been having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions too.
Belly Button in or out? a little outie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: anxious to see what He looks like

Looking forward to: decorating his nursery when we move

Hunter Canyon Hike

This Prego lady can still hike!  We stopped in Moab on our way home and hiked a 4 mile round trip hike called hunter Canyon.  There was a beautiful little stream running along the canyon floor the whole time, and lots of little lizards around us.  We didn't see many people on the hike and it was very peaceful.

yes, I am very aware that I look like a total dweeb with my sunglasses and tye dye shirt.

Potty break.

It was a wonderfully warm day and we enjoyed the sunshine and quiet beauty before headed back up to the craziness of the Valley. bleh.

I Had a Dream

I don't have normal dreams.  Ever. Mine are always super wacky, but this one was actually thought provoking.  It made me think about what I dreamt last night as I layed in bed this morning.

Bryan and I were living at my mom's house in Oregon.  We already had our baby and he was asleep on the bed. We looked out the window the across the street there was a fire station on fire.  The flames and blazes were coming towards the backyard and we needed to evacuate the house to find safety.  I remember hugging and kissing Siam (our well loved kitty who died a couple years ago), and sending him outside where he could escape.

Then we started to gather necessities that we needed in an emergency.  A change of clothes, toothbrushes, eyeglasses, our small store of emergency cash we have, and for some reason I wanted my new set of scriptures I just got.  My mom keeps her emergency pack in the closet so we grabbed that knowing it would have food, blankets, a radio, ect.  (All this was going on while Baby was sound asleep on the bed. haha).  I just kept thinking in my dream, what is really important to me.  What matters the most that I HAVE to have it when we leave?

I woke up wondering what in my life is so dear to my heart to my heart that I can't leave it behind.  When Bryan and I talk about this, I say my computer because it has SO many pictures from over the past many years, that to me are cherished memories.  But that never occured to me in my dream. Besides some money for our family, all I wanted was my scriptures, and my loved ones.

I am grateful (even though its only a dream) that the scriptures came to my mind first.  Maybe I just don't have a lot of physical things that I need to have with me.  Makes me think though, in case something like that ever happened.

What would you take with you??

Easter!

Here is the link to last year's Easter. This year we went to Paradox again and did a few of the same things, and a few different. We love Jen's family. They are our family away from home.

This is how our travels started out.  Lots of snow!  Did anybody notice it is April and should not be snowing like this?!  It cleared up pretty quick though!

Lots of 4 wheel  rides to keep little people entertained.  And Bryan :)

We loved our 6 month old niece and can't wait for our little one to come!

 Babies everywhere

Asparagus hunting.  Delicious!  We do this every year :)

Hello Mrs. Cow

Just hanging out

Bryan was really cute with Libby.  He'll be a good dad

 Growing belly

Girls in their matching Easter Dresses
The boys played baseball with the real eggs from the Easter egg hunt.  After being in the sun for several hours we decided not to eat them.  They splattered eggs everywhere!

We woke up Easter morning to an Easter basket left by the Easter Bunny I guess :) It had a few yummy treats and socks for our baby!

 Goodbye Paradox!

We had to stop and get a few gallons of gas to make it to Moab.  It was special!

We stopped in Moab to hike Hunter Canyon.  It was beautiful!  The hike was not very difficult and splashing through the stream was fun :)  But seeing as my computer is not behaving i'll post the hike another day.

So here was a little snapshot of our weekend.  We are ready to go back!
